We are throwing a party so EPIC it will appease and impress the Space Gods...
..convincing them that humanity is not only worth sparing, but that we are totally awesome.
Our goal: rock so hard that the Extraterrestrials land a spacecraft at the party and join us for the festivities.
Featuring Ghostland Observatory
The Electro-Dance Soul Rock Phenomenon from Austin are the featured HEADLINER of the Cosmic Convergence Festival and will take this party to another dimension. They will be on stage at Midnight when the Mothership lands.
Sun Domingo is an American Alternative-progressive rock band based out of Miami, Florida.
Formed in 2004 by Edgel Groves Jr. (Guitar, Backing Vocals) the band has logged countless miles and more than 1,500 shows throughout the US, Canada and Europe and has sold over 20,000 albums worldwide as an independent act.
Quintron is THE mad scientist meets Jerry Lee Lewis of multi-instrumental one-man-bands and will twist your brain with his brand of synthed-out boogie woogie. Along with the lovely and talented puppeteer Miss Pussycat they present an unparalleled tour de force.
An Indy Rock phenomenon, Rotary Downs is made up of vocalist and guitarist James Marler, guitarist Chris Colombo, keyboardist and trumpeter Michael Girardot, bassist Jason Rhein, and drummer Zack Smith. Good times ensue...
A six piece group drawing influences from traditional country, early rock, substance abuse, and crippling bouts of depression, Happy Talk has managed to amass a loyal following of terminally bored borderline suicides and fashionably dressed idiot savants. The band's happy-go-lucky compositions lament the joys and pitfalls of booze, fist fighting, bank robbery, murder, religion, dope, exotic dancing, and family values. "It's not about fun, buddy. It's about the truth."
In New Orleans there's a saying that the men who dance a certain strut with their umbrellas at the second lines are "walking ratty". So I swing the gait with acrobatic synchronicity playing to the sharks running for governor, to the trench whores and the heroines shooting holes in the sky; I walk ratty with my babydoll looking for a good funeral for the past.
MC Trachiotomy (Trach) is a 9th ward Louisiana character. A rare collage of madness, highlighted by drunkenesque production, and cryptic lyrics. He defines a territory straddling rap, spoken-word, psychedelic rambling, prophetic sage Beefheart-ian wackiness, and lo-fi pop Residents' new-wave operas.
The webcast will begin between 6 and 6:30 on Friday night, December, 12, 2012. If you have any problems purchasing or viewing the webcast, please contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will respond as soon as possible.
Worried about the 2012 Mayan Apocalypse? Don’t be. One of the worlds leading Ancient Astronaut Theorists has a plan to prevent the destruction of planet Earth. Giorgio Tsoukalos, the star of History Channel’s “Ancient Aliens” and publisher of Legendary Times Magazine has partnered with the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus to host a once in a lifetime multi-media spectacle to mark the end of the Mayan Long Count Calendar-a precessional event that happens only once every 25,600 years.
The Cosmic Convergence Festival is an ALL DAY affair that will take us to the end of the Mayan calendar countdown and beyond. It will take place in New Orleans at the Sugar Mill on Friday, December 21st, 2012.The festival features an all-star lineup of musicians, DJs and performers including electronic psy-rockers Ghostland Observatory, along with many of the best acts the Crescent City has to offer including: Alex McMurray and the Interstellar All-Stars, Quintron and Miss Pussycat, Rotary Downs, James Singleton, Sun Domingo and the Hot 8 Brass Band among many others. Specialty food trucks and a host of other vendors will showcase the culinary and cultural delights of New Orleans.
Giorgio and the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus intend to “Avert the 2012 Mayan Apocalypse by throwing a party so EPIC that it will appease and impress the Space Gods, convincing them that humanity is not only worth sparing, but that we are totally awesome. Our goal is to rock SO HARD that Extraterrestrials land a spacecraft at the party and join us for the festivities.”
These far-out sentiments are also backed up by some down-to-earth generosity. Tsoukalos and the Krewe have partnered with the actor who plays Chewbacca himself, Peter Mayhew, to help those less fortunate. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Peter Mayhew Foundation and their programs with Children’s Hospitals, Wounded Warrior Centers and special needs and at-risk children.
It will be the dawn of a new era and Giorgio wants to welcome you aboard the Mothership. Come to New Orleans on December 21st and be a part of the ultimate PREVENT the End of the World Party. It is definitely a much better way to spend the day than hiding in your neighbor’s bomb shelter.
PLEASE NOTE: THE COSMIC CONVERGENCE FESTIVAL IS AN 18+ EVENT. NO ONE UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE WILL BE ADMITTED.
